Sew ‘n Sews

The second Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. people from our Spring Hill community gather to make quilts which are then sent all over the world.

The quilts we make and sent out into the world not only comfort someone we have never met, but provide an object that is useful in ways we could never imagine. In addition to being a cozy, clean new bed cover, our quilts also can be:

• a baby carrier, tied around a mother’s back;
• a market display, spread on the ground and piled with vegetables;
• a sack for transporting those goods to market;
• a sunshade;
• a shawl; and most importantly
• a constant reminder that someone, far away, cares a lot.
• a beautiful wrapping for burying the deceased
